According to the Merriam-Webster online dictionary, apologetics is defined as:
systematic argumentative discourse in defense (as of a doctrine)
a branch of theology devoted to the defense of the divine origin and authority of Christianity
Christian apologetics attempts to defend the foundational truths of Christianity such as the existence of God, the inspiration of the Scriptures, the resurrection of Christ, and just the overall truthfulness of the Bible’s claims. Evidences and reasons are often derived from the fields of history, science, philosophy and, of course, the Bible itself.
During the three years that I spent in Nevada, I spent a lot of time interacting with atheists and skeptics at the University of Nevada. I participated in a number of discussion groups where I was often the only Christian present. I did podcasts with atheists, met with them for coffee on many occasions to discuss our differences, and even did a public debate on “creation vs. evolution” at the University of Nevada campus that was very well-attended.
Over the course of three years, I wrote many articles and studies aimed at “[defending] the divine origin and authority of Christianity.” I’ve decided to make that material available here on my website. The links below will take you to sub-pages that will deal with specific topics and fields of study.
